Schedule Child’s First Dentist Visit by 12 Months
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children should have their first dental appointment by their first birthday.
Why so early? There are a number of advantages to getting your little one off to the right start with the pediatric dentist. First, an early start allows kiddos to grow up feeling safe and secure in the dental office. It is age-appropriate for toddlers to fuss a little at these early visits, but having successful appointments early on builds confidence for tots. At Dentistry For Children, it is our philosophy to support children and their parents through dental care starting at a young age so that children may have the opportunity to have a shining smile for life.
Second, early detection is key for any dental or developmental issues. The earlier we can begin treatment or prevention, the better the outcome for dental health. If problems are detected, our children’s hospital-trained specialists will know what to do and how to do it right.
